VSO School of Music and Music Arts Collective have partnered up to present a Sisters In Jazz Day at the VSO Virtual classroom on March 19, 2021. It’s great for students AND teachers who are looking to explore jazz rhythms, improv, composition and a bit of history about Women in Jazz. Anyone who identifies as a “sister” is welcome – non-binary, trans, etc..
The faculty this year is JUNO nominated musicians bassist/composer/educator Jodi Proznick, pianist/composer/educator Amanda Tosoff from Humber College and JUNO nominated vocalist/songwriter Heather Bambrick, jazz radio host at Jazz FM. She will be hosting the listening exploration. She is such an engaging speaker, with that Newfoundland charm.
All ages and all levels – beginner and intermediate.
Everyone will have access to the videos and PDF files after the event on our education hub www.musicartscollective.com, so if people need to leave early or arrive late, they won’t miss anything!
