Vocal Jazz Weekend Intensive

Find your groove this summer at the VSO School of Music’s Vocal Jazz Intensive — a two-day creative deep dive designed for passionate vocalists ready to explore the art of jazz singing. Through ensemble work, improvisation, and personalized coaching, you’ll develop your voice and connect with a vibrant community of like-minded musicians.

Level: Intermediate to advanced vocalists

Learn from an outstanding team of jazz educators and performers:

• Jennifer Scott – renowned vocalist and jazz pianist specializing in jazz, blues and world music.

• Will Clements – dynamic jazz singer, composer, arranger, vocal jazz ensemble and choral director.

• Steve Maddock – veteran performer known for his powerful stage presence, improvisation abilities and beautiful tone.

• Rhythm section coaching by Jodi Proznick – award-winning bassist, educator, and artistic leader

In this class we will explore the repertoire, nuances, stylization and vocal techniques needed to be a confident and swinging singer. Jodi Proznick will bring the tunes and exercises – you bring your voice!
